Lantern & Iron is a collection of limited edition fine art prints exploring forgotten tools, working objects and the quiet heritage of rural memory. These are not photographs of old equipment. They are photographs of what remains when the hands that used them have gone — the emotional residue left in worn wood, rusted metal, and the soft glow of lamplight on surfaces that once held daily purpose.

The work belongs to the same underlying pursuit explored across the wider practice in Making Silence Visible — the attempt to make silence visible without explaining it away. In these objects the boundary between function and memory has never been entirely settled.

There is a thing that happens when you pick up a tool that has outlived the person who used it. The handle has been worn smooth in one particular place — not evenly, but exactly where a hand closed on it, thousands of times, over years I never saw. Wood keeps that. Iron keeps it too, in its own harder way. And when the lamp comes low across it in the dark, that worn place catches the light differently from the rest, and for a moment the hand is almost there again — the grip, the angle, the weight of a day's work I will never know the details of. That is what I go looking for: not the object, but the shape of the person the object still remembers.
