The Candlelit Sentinel
This work is not concerned with spectacle. It is concerned with watchfulness. The Candlelit Sentinel was made in a place built to swallow sound, where carved stone holds its position while everything human passes below it.
The candle is not decoration. It is measurement. A small, practical flame placed against a surface designed for centuries. Wax gathers, light falls away, and the guardian’s expression becomes less narrative than architectural.
At scale, the photograph behaves less like an image and more like an encounter. The work does not tell a story—it establishes atmosphere.
